She got a doctorate in philosophy at the University of Barcelona in 1975, under the guidance of, among other philosophers and thinkers, José Luis López Aranguren and José Ferrater Mora, and subsequently she has been teaching, in an uninterrupted manner, at the Universidad Autónoma of Barcelona (UAB), from 1972 as teacher and from 1986 as professor of ethics and philosophy of moral and political right. From 1990 to 1993 she was the vice rector of the said university.

Victoria Camps is the author of a series of philosophical essays that reflect her main concerns and action fields as an ethical thinker, which encompass the approach of democracy and the welfare state from the near notions of social democracy (it is undoubtable the influence of the American philosopher John Rawls, or the Professor of Ethics Javier Mugerza), the role of the media in society from an ethical point of view, the design and management of teaching and, more recently, the issues related with bioethics.
